William Russell "Russ" Quick age 73 of Burgaw, formerly of Atkinson, died Saturday November 23, 2013 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born September 25, 1940 in Wolcott NY son of the late James and Gwendolyn Bates Quick. Russ served honorably in the United States Air Force.
He was a long distance truck driver , was an avid bowler, and enjoyed fishing and cooking.

He is survived by seven children, Douglas Quick and wife Angie of Canton NY, Jayne Butcher and husband George of Beaver Creek OH, Timothy Quick of Ogdensburg NY, Jere Quick and wife Debby of Rochester NY, Kelly Horrell and husband Darrell of Atkinson, Kara Ward and husband Steven of Burgaw, and Tricia Laraby and husband Lee of Dekalb Jct. NY; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Beverly Hence and husband Ronald of Syracuse NY, Marjorie Buettener of FL, and Donna Quick of NV; and special friend Kelly Case.
He was predeceased by brothers Melvin Quick, and Duane Quick; sisters Beatrice Quick, and Jane Ellen; and wife Anita Imgram Quick.

Funeral services will be at 6:00 PM Saturday December 7, 2013 at Atkinson Freewill Holiness Church. Pastor Wesley Hairr will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
