William Bryan Dees, 69, died peacefully surrounded by his family at New Hanover Regional Medical Center on 13 September 2022 from heart complications.

He was born 8 July 1953 in Burgaw to the late Robert Register and Elizabeth Anne Batson Dees.  He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth "Betsy" Dees Noll.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ann Trainer Dees; daughters, Alice Dees Leenhouts and husband, James, of Banner Elk, and Anne Claire Dees of Asheville; granddaughters Elizabeth "Betsy" Margaret Leenhouts and Eloise Claire Leenhouts of Banner Elk; brothers, Robert R. Dees and wife, Marsha, of Burgaw, and R. Brent Dees and wife, Cherie, of Charlotte, and beloved nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service in Bryan's honor at St. Mary's Episcopal Church on Saturday, 8 October 2022 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

A loving granddaddy, daddy, husband, and friend, he was a lifelong active member of his church.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church or the Pender County Humane Society.
