Timothy Craig "Tim" Rasmussen, age 68 of Burgaw, passed peacefully Friday January 31, 2020 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

He was born December 15, 1951 in Carrol, IA son of the late Norman and Charlotte Gress Rasmussen.

He is survived by his wife Mary Presnell "Susie" Rasmussen; son, Kyle Rasmussen and wife Nikki; daughter, Megan Swope and husband Jesse; grandchildren, Hunter, Maia, Makalla, Alexis, Dean, Derrik and Rose; brother, Dave Rasmussen; sisters, Liz Cretin, Debbie Phillips, and Suzanne and Carl Rasmussen; and many nieces and nephews.

Tim graduated from Exira High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving honorably in the United States Army. He was also stationed in Germany while in the Army. Tim was the manager of a large grain elevator operation in the mid west, before retiring to southeastern NC.
