Obituary

On May 13, 2017, Sarah E. Chasteen, peacefully at home, at 6:30 pm opened her eyes, saw Jesus, and ended her good fight of Faith. Sarah was a true warrior in the army of the Lord. She was an end time Prophetess, Evangelist, Intercessor, Praiser, and Worshipper who had served God with her whole heart, all her life. Sarah was a person who loved to be a blessing and give to others. She constantly gave all she had to meet the needs of others, often doing without herself. Sarah was very tender hearted, and loving, but when it came to the things of God, she was as BOLD as a LION. She knew the word of God like the back of her hand, because she had spent her life studying it. Sarah was a family loving woman, and prayed constantly for her family and her friends. And if God ever told her something about you, all the devils in hell couldn't make her back up off of it. Sarah believed and trusted God above everything else in her life, and she stood firmly on his word. In 2008, Sarah received a diagnosis of stage 4 ovarian cancer. As much as it had already progressed, doctors didn't expect Sarah to live more than a year. On several occasions, Sarah's doctor told her she was a living walking MIRACLE. After a lifetime of living by faith, and over 9 years battling cancer, Sarah VICTORIOUSLY walked into heaven to live in her new home. She never let go of her faith. Sarah's life was a living testimony to how God is a keeper. There aren't enough words to do justice to this POWERFUL GREAT WOMAN of GOD, who will truly be missed until the day of Jesus.

Sarah was preceded in moving to glory by her grandparents, her dad, Haskel Chasteen Sr., two nephews, Tyler Lee Chasteen and Isaac Shane Chasteen, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She has left behind to continue the good fight of Faith, her mother, Faye Keziah, two sisters, Teresa Chasteen and Faye Brock (husband James Brock), a brother, Haskel "Leebo" Chasteen Jr. (wife Wendy Chasteen), a son, Daniel Alter, a grandson, Aiden Alter, four nieces, Amber Simmons (husband Joey), Jessica Beatty (husband Tam), Elizabeth Chasteen, Kelly Jo Fraley, two nephews, Jeffery Brock, and Eric Brock (wife Brittany), two great-nieces Mikaila Simmons and Kahmayah Beatty, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
