Ronald Wayne Watson age 61 of Rocky Point, passed peacefully Saturday July 10, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born February 22, 1960 in Wichita Falls, TX son of the late Walker and Sonja Watson.

He is survived by his daughter, Marie Plummer and husband Justin of Winston Salem; son, Buddy Watson of Rocky Point; four grandchildren, R J Plummer, Sonja Plummer, Tatum Plummer, and Abigail Watson; nephew Tom Watson and wife Sarah and their daughter, Brynlee Watson; and girlfriend, Verbee Faucette.

Ron lived for coaching and worked tirelessly for his community. Most people knew Ron as "Coach". He enjoyed coaching, Dixie Youth, Pender Youth Soccer, Pop Warner Football, and at Trask and Pender High Schools. Ron was an announcer for Port City Diesel Football, and enjoyed writing a sports column for the Pender Chronical Newspaper. He dearly loved his family and especially his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given in Ron's name to Burgaw Dixie Youth PO Box 1787 Burgaw, NC 28425

A celebration of Ron's life with family and friends will be Saturday July 31st from 7pm until 9pm at Pender Memorial Park picnic shelter. Please bring a chair and your fond memories of Coach.
