Roger William "Mike" Geddes, Jr., of Wilmington, NC, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center.

Mike was born January 31, 1941 in Wilmington, NC to the late Roger William Geddes and Lucille Caroline Josenhans Geddes.

Mike graduated from New Hanover High School and attended Wilmington College. Mike married his high school sweetheart, Patsy. They were married 61 years.

While Patsy and Mike raised their family in Burgaw, NC, Mike worked at International Paper until his retirement in 2001. Mike grew up as a member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church and later joined Burgaw Baptist Church where he served as a church deacon and sang in the church choir for many years.

Following retirement, Mike and Patsy enjoyed traveling with their friends and traveling visiting children and grandchildren.  Mike and Patsy enjoyed many hobbies together, including enrolling in art classes where they learned to paint.  Mike had many other hobbies which included fishing with his sons, woodworking, gardening, knitting and recently learned to bake bread, which he shared with family and neighbors.

Mike is survived by his four children, George Jeffrey Geddes (Debbie), Jennifer Geddes Hawfield (Mason),  Karl Jonathan Geddes (Kim), and Patricia Janeen Garner (Robbie).  He was adored by his 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Mike is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and his sister-in-law, Jane Bond Shipp.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Bond Geddes, and a sister Winfred Ruth Geddes Stone.

The family will have a private graveside service.
