Ramon Pabon was born in Bayamon , Puerto Rico on January 28, 1918. He was one of ten children of Juan Pabon and Zoraida Fernandez Pabon. He passed away on Thursday September 9, 2010 at the Brian Center in Wallace at the age of 92 with his loving wife at his side.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years Lenora Pabon. Stepson Charlie Thompson and wife Laverne. Grandchildren from Charlie: Troy Thompson, Monique Thompson, Charlie Ray and Chad Thompson. Grandchildren from deceased stepdaughter Charlotte Harris: Michael Harris, Lenora Joy Harris, Asia O'Banner and husband Fred,. Great-grandsons: Jason and Jonathan King. Sisters: Alice Fuentes Pabon, Carmen Resto, and Rose Mauro. Niece: Diana Aponte and husband Gilbert, Nephew, Raymond Legat, and a host of other nieces, nephews, as well as a large spiritual family of Jehovah's Witnesses who will all sorely miss Ramon.
Ramon has been a beloved member of the Spanish congregation and at his death was a member of the Burgaw English congregation. He served Jehovah for the last 34 years of his life and his faith in God was the foundation of his life since 1976. He gave a lasting example to all that knew him.
He served as a volunteer at the Pender Correctional Facility in Burgaw for years. He taught those in this facility that wanted to know God and His purpose for man to those that were Spanish speaking.
The Memorial of his death will be held on Saturday, September 18th, at 2:00 pm in Burgaw , NC at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Hwy 117 South.
