Petrona Ibarra Davila, age 98 of Burgaw, passed peacefully Thursday July 4, 2024 at Poplar Grove Health Care.

She was born October 23, 1925 in Guines Cuba, daughter of the late Aguedo and Lea Ibarra.

She is survived by her son, Jose Davila of FL; and daughter Mayra Pena of Wilmington; five grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

Petrona was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She was an excellent seamstress and made a lot of clothes for her family. She loved to help people and never wanted to hurt anyone. Petrona was a hard worker. She was small in stature but mighty.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
