Margie Sharpe Bishop age 89 of Burgaw and formerly of Greensboro, died Tuesday June 22, 2010 at Pender Memorial Hospital. She was born August 18, 1920 in Gilford County daughter of the late John and Lucinda Jerrell Sharpe. She was also predeceased by her husband Winford B. Bishop, and son Larry B. Bishop, Sr.
She worked for over forty years at FW Woolworths in Greensboro. Margie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Bishop Fentress and husband Stewart of Burgaw; four grandchildren, Leigh Morphis Mitchell and husband Stan, Christy Bishop, Lori Morphis Marshburn and husband Anthony, Larry Banner Bishop, Jr. and wife Amy; ten great-grandchildren; a sister Iva Sharpe Coble of Greensboro; and a sister-in-law Evelyn Bishop Leach of Greensboro.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday June 26, 2010 at Alamance Presbyterian Church in Greensboro. The Reverend Dr. Ray Mendenhall will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
