Lillian Brown Lanier Maready, age 98 of Burgaw, passed peacefully at home Thursday May 28, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 15, 1922 in Duplin County, daughter of the late Edward and Leona Maready Brown. She was also predeceased by her husband Liston Lanier.

She is survived by two sons, Harry Lanier and wife Alice of Winnabow and Wayne Lanier of Harrells, two daughters, Judy Tucker and husband Roy of Wallace and Connie Jo Harvell and husband Butch of Burgaw; six grandchildren, Jefferson Harvell, Cammie Staples, Connie Lashmet, Tammie Albright, Robin Hall and Marie Dickson; eighteen great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Lillian was a fun loving person who enjoyed crochet, dancing and drinking Co-Cola. She dearly loved her family but also loved wrestling. She attended many wrestling matches and became part of the show. Lillian worked at Cavanaugh's Restaurant for over twenty years.

A graveside funeral service will be at 1:00pm Monday June 1, 2020 at Jefferson Lanier Cemetery, in Beulaville, NC. Reverend Jimmy Johnson will conduct the service.
