Lance Henning Nelson, age 77 of Rocky Point, passed peacefully Friday October 9, 2020 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born October 7, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY son of the late Niels and Estelle Herington Nelson.

He is survived by his sister, Niela Frantellizzi of Kingspark , NY; nieces and nephews, Neal Nelson and wife Maureen, Lynne York and husband Brad, Steven Nelson and wife Barbara, Paul Frantellizzi and wife Pam, Liz Mifsud and husband Ronnie, Mark Frantellizzi and wife Luciana; many great nieces and nephews; and special beloved dog Frankie.

Lance served honorably in the United States Air Force. He was a very nice person with a big heart and loved animals. Lance only wanted the best for everyone else. He was the life of the party and enjoyed playing games.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday October 13, 2020 at Harrell's Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Ernest Sanchez will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.
