Kurt Joseph Schultes age 50 of Ivanhoe, died Thursday December 8, 2011. He was born March 9, 1961 in Sydney NY, son of Dr. Lorain Medburg Schultes and the late Carole Dolesh Schultes.

Kurt was an avid beekeeper and vice president of Sampson County Beekeepers Association, a member of Pender County Beekeepers Association, and the North Carolina Beekeepers Association. He enjoyed raising animals on his farm in Ivanhoe. Kurt loved hiking in the mountains, kayaking, and being a part of nature.

He is survived by his wife Sabrina Southards-Schultes of the home; brothers and sisters, Stan Schultes and wife Laurie of Sarasota FL, Eve Ridge and husband Eric of Bloomington IN, Joel Schultes and wife Evelyn of Corning NY, Katrina Schultes and Carl Clower of Logan OH; nieces and nephews, Tyler and Eric Schultes, Keyan, Carole, Noah, Hope, and Ben Schultes.

A celebration of life will be at 1:00 pm Saturday December 17, 2011at Moores Creek National Battlefield, Patriots Hall. Reverend Margaret Hockett will officiate.
