Judy Thigpen Hurt, age 65 of Burgaw, passed peacefully Monday October 30, 2023 at Novant Health NHRMC.

She was born August 26, 1958 in Pender County daughter of the late Andrew and Betty Bowden Thigpen.She was also predeceased by her brother, Dicky Thigpen.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Hurt; son, Jeffery Hurt and wife Bobbie Sue of Harrells; brother Jimmy Thigpen and wife Carol of Burgaw; sister Louise McManis and husband Mack of Wilmington; many nieces and nephews; and a loving companion, Cloey.

Judy always had a beautiful yard and loved working in it to make it look great. Being outside and working with flowers was her greatest joy! She enjoyed working at Bojangles and loved her co-workers and customers.

The family will receive friends at 11:00 am Friday November 3, 2023 at Harrell's Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will follow at Gurganious Family Cemetery. Reverend William Hill Pearsall will officiate at the burial.
