James Garland Frye age 78 of Wallace, passed peacefully Tuesday August 10, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 20, 1943 in Washington, DC son of the late James Robert Frye and Myrtle Douglas Frye.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Rogers Frye; two sons, Aaron Frye of Wallace and Andrew Frye and wife Jessica of Wallace; three grandchildren, Brady Frye, Mackinze Frye, and Brody Frye; a brother, Michael Wayne Frye and wife Patricia of FL; and many nieces and nephews.

Garland loved horses and horse riding as a young man and liked to play the guitar. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving honorably in the US Army. He was an electrician by trade working many years at GE. Garland loved his family, his wife, children and grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6-7:00 PM Wednesday August 11 at Harrell's Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday August 12, 2021 at Harrell's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Clay McCauley will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by the United States Army.
