James Warren Connor, age 85 of Burgaw passed peacefully Monday September 4, 2023 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born June 26, 1938 in Columbus County, son of the late Fred and Geraldine Cox Connor.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dawn Burns Connor; three sons, Fred Connor and wife Chantel of Glen Burnie, MD, Kelly Connor and wife Cheryl of Greensboro, and Job Connor of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren, Capri, Peighton, Makoa, and Kaimana; two step grandchildren, Adam and Kayla; one great grandchild, Melody; a brother, Ronnie Connor and wife Carolyn of Sumter, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was a member of the US Army National Guard. His passion was flying and he retired after 30 years of service with Piedmont and US Air. He was the youngest pilot hired by Piedmont at the time. Jim was famous for personal stories. After retirement he went into farming. Jim loved to hunt and was an avid fisherman who fished the world over. He was a Past Master of King Solomon Masonic Lodge #138 A.F. & A.M. Jim was a member of the Pender County Shrine Club.

At Jim's request there will be no services and a private family interment will be held.
