Jacklyn Mathews Snyder, age 70 of Wilmington passed peacefully Saturday August 24, 2024 at Lower Cape Fear Life Care.

She was born November 29, 1953 at a US Air Force base in Puerto Rico, daughter of the late James Mathews and Jerrouldine Cavanaugh.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Bennett of Burgaw; a grandson, Collin Michael Wilson; brother, James Calvin Mathews Jr. of Rocky Point; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Rose Mollene Smith, and Sharon Ann Mathews; and a brother, Jerrould Wade Cavanaugh.

Jacklyn loved to cook for friends and family. She enjoyed puzzles, gardening and plants, crafts and sewing. Jacklyn was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. She had a gentle soul, a kind heart and would do anything for anyone.

A celebration of her life will be announced in the near future. Memorial donations in her name can be made to Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Wilmington.
