Obituary

Jasper Ciscroe "JC" Pridgen Jr. age 79 of Burgaw, went to be with his Lord and Savior, August 7, 2018 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 27, 1939 in Pender County son of the late Jasper and Cornita Croom Pridgen Sr.
J.C. loved his savior Jesus Christ first and foremost. His family came second and his church third. These were the most cherished things in his life. He accepted Jesus as his Savior at Long Creek Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member there, where he was loved and he loved.
J.C. loved his childhood sweet heart and wife Martha, together they created a happy home. His child Jeff and family and Martha's child Martin and family were greatly influenced by his love for them and his fellowman. J. C. had the gift of hospitality.
J.C. had a God given talent from youth up, as a mechanic. He loved to fix up any motorized machine that wouldn't run. He never gave up until he had it running.

The angel of the Lord came and took him home August 7, 2018 and his heart would be joyful to know that each of you has accepted Christ as your Savior.
J.C. stood tall among men, he bowed low before God and he always stood in the gap praying for his family, his friends and his church family. He was committed, faithful and loved God and his fellowman.

He is survived by his wife Martha Merritt Pridgen of the home; son Jefrey Wayne Pridgen and wife Brenda; daughter Michelle; six grandchildren; son Martin Wade McGowen; granddaughter , Ashley Brooke McGowan; brother Marvin Pridgen and wife Mary; nephews Glen and wife Mary, and Ronald; great nephew and niece Tyler and Ashton; much loved cousins, Linda Harts, Jay Deal, Junior Deal and their families; and his many Pridgen cousins.
