Ivey William Jordan, 91 of Burgaw and formerly from Wilmington passed from his earthly life on Friday, November 25, 2022 at the Hospice Life Care Center in Wilmington, NC.

He was born November 19, 1931 in Burgaw, the son of Jesse W. Jordan and Martha Jane Jordan.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jessie A. Batson, Maggie M. Jordan, Marshall B. Jordan, Murray B. Jordan, Joseph E. Jordan, Annie E. Reeves, Charlie L. Jordan, Ethel V. Lee, Martha J. (Jeanette) Gaffos, Robert C. Jordan, Melva M. Duplantis, Delva J. Jordan Sr., and Douglas Jordan.

Ivey is survived by his sister-in-law Bertha M. Jordan of Burgaw and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many more relatives and dear friends.

Ivey was a deaf/mute but he did not let this slow him down.  He lived life to the fullest, attending the deaf school in Wilson, NC, then on to working at the K&W in Raleigh, NC.  He attended the annual retreat in Morgantown, NC and also enjoyed bowling on the senior league at Cardinal Lanes in Wilmington.  In his younger days he would travel by bus and airplane to visit family in California and Louisiana.  He has made many friends all over New Hanover, Pender, and Duplin Counties with his infectious smiles and laughter.

Ivey was a long time member of Jordan's Chapel UMC, Burgaw, NC.  He is absent from us, but he is present with his Lord and Savior.

Visitation will be Friday, December 2, 2022 6-7:00 PM at Harrell's Funeral Home, Burgaw.

Funeral service will be Graveside Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Jordan's Chapel UMC Cemetery, Burgaw, NC.
