Glenda Kathleen "Kathy" Jarvis age 75 of Watha passed peacefully Monday May 18, 2026 at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center under the care of Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.

She was born December 8, 1950 in Gastonia, NC daughter of the late Leonard and Maye Crenshaw. She was known to all as Kathy. She moved to Carolina Beach, NC in 1969 with her husband and two children, where she and her husband ran a local shrimp boat as well as managed a local campground. In 1985 she started working at Needham Animal Hospital, where she met Dr. Jeff Dineen. In 1991 she went to work with Dr. Dineen at his clinic for the next 26 years. Kathy was an avid horse woman and animal lover. She was a well known wildlife rehabber for many years as well. Kathy's love of horses and animals will live on through her granddaughter who is just as passionate about animal care as she was.

Kathy is proceeded in death by her parents Leonard and Maye Crenshaw, her beloved husband of 58 years, Earl Watson Jarvis Jr., and her son Troy Jarvis.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Knapp of Wilmington; her granddaughter, Savannah Knapp of Watha; and her grandson, Joshua Knapp (Micaela) of Whiteville. She also leaves behind her loyal K9 companion Petey.

In lieu of flowers we ask that a donation be made to Penderosa Rescue and Sanctuary Inc., a local horse and livestock non-profit organization. This rescue held a special place in Kathy's heart.

A celebration of life is at 5 PM Saturday June 13, 2026 at Penderosa Rescue and Sanctuary 256 Lamb Rd. Willard, NC
