Georgia Henderson Richards, age 87 of Burgaw passed away Wednesday November 4, 2015 at Ashe Gardens.

She was born September 15, 1928 in New Hanover Co., daughter of the late Frederick and Georgia Whittington Henderson. She was also predeceased by her husband Hosea Richards.

She is survived by her son Franklin LeRoy Richards and wife Linda of Burgaw; daughter Linda Zamora and husband Richard of San Antonia TX; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a brother Sonny Henderson and wife Ellen of Surf City; two sisters, Mildred Hughes and husband Charles of Burgaw, Bessie Clemmons of Hampstead; and many nieces and nephews.

Georgia was a lifelong seamstress. She was a sweet woman who enjoyed sewing and loved gospel music.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Saturday November 7, 2015 at Riley's Creek Baptist Church. Reverend Jim Herchenhahn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Richards Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 12:00noon (one hour prior to the service) at the church.
