Fred Tyson Gaylor age 60 of Burgaw, died Thursday February 10, 2011 at Huntington Health Care.

He was born October 10, 1950 in New Hanover County son of Miriam Harrell Gaylor and the late Fred Gaylor Jr. He was also predeceased by a brother Ronald Allen Gaylor.

He is survived by his mother Miriam H. Gaylor of Burgaw; a brother Steve Gaylor and wife Angie of Burgaw; nephew Wesley Gaylor, and a niece Alyssa Gaylor.

Freddie received a Bachelor of Arts degree from UNC Wilmington, followed by a Master of Arts and education degree from East Carolina University. He began his career at age ten as a local floral designer. He became a talented artist and after his education he taught art at Cape Fear Community Collage. He continued floral design at a Christmas house in Hendersonville. Later he moved to Charlotte to work at Hanford Creations doing interior floral design at locations around the world. He designed artwork for publishing companies as well as doing numerous paintings. Freddie had a kind heart and was well loved by those who knew him.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday February 13, 2011 at Harrell's Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Nathan Morton will officiate.
The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the funeral home.
