Francis Peter "Murray" Berrie was born December 21, 1932 and died April 21, 2021. Murray was born in Glasgow Scotland, and moved to the United States in 1957. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Berrie, his sister Annie Carver, his three children Kathy Berrie her husband Fred Stegmuller, Sean Berrie and his wife Kelly Berrie, and Eve Anne Schechter and her husband Marty Schechter. Seven grandchildren, Sinead Smith and husband Bradley Smith, Marisa, Caela, Aisling, Emma, Luke, Lexi, and two great grandsons Asher and Kieran Smith.
Murray served in the British Royal Air Force, he was a hair dresser in Glasgow, London, Paris, Manhattan, and finally his own salon, Entre Nous Coiffures in Rumson, NJ, which he owned and operated for 25 years. A devout catholic, he served as a cantor and Eucharistic minister. Murray was a talented musician, chef, artist, carpenter, gardener, coach, and mentor for his family. He had a beautiful singing voice and a quick wit right until the very end.
Services will be held at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church at 4849 Castle Hayne Road, Castle Hayne, NC 28429 at 11AM on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.
