Reverend Father Nicholas Kowal age 83, of Burgaw reposed July 29, 2013 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
He was born November 19, 1929 in Buffalo NY son of the late Alexander and Sonia Gorsky Kowal.

Father Nicholas began his working career as a school teacher, then became a chemist, and later a purchasing agent. After retirement he became an ordained Russian Orthodox Priest.

He is survived by his wife Anne Fedoronko Kowal; three sons, Dr. Mark Kowal and wife Sharon, Michael Kowal, and Matthew Kowel and wife Patsy all of Richmond VA; six grandchildren, Lauren, Alexandra, Andrew, Mackenzie, Christopher, and Thomas; a brother, Harry Kowal, and two sisters Alexandria Sydorowicz and Dorothy Gutowski all of Buffalo NY.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday July 31, 2013 at Harrell's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in St Helena Cemetery. Reverend Father John Trepatchko will officiate.
