Elsie Chadwick Wells, 83, of Burgaw, passed peacefully August 28, 2020 at Lower Cape Fear Life Care, surrounded by her loving family and her special companion, Mia.

Elsie was born August 18, 1937 in Pender County, daughter of the late McRae and Zelma Rivenbark Chadwick. She was also predeceased by her loving husband, Roy M. Wells; brothers, Lawrence Chadwick, Clayton Chadwick; sisters, Doris C. Wells and Frances (Mavis) C. Hardison.

Elsie is survived by her son, Marvin Wells (Cathy); daughter, Gail Royal (James); granddaughters, Rebecca, Amber (John), Carrie (Alex); grandson, Christopher; great grandchildren, Brookelyn (Eric), Farrah and Layla; and special companion, Mia, her four legged baby.

Elsie was a devoted wife and momma. She was the BEST cook and loved cooking almost as much as she loved her family. She was always there for her family. Elsie was a Christian who knew and loved the Lord. Her last words to her family were, "shed no tears for me, we will all meet again in Heaven".

A graveside service will be at 2:00 PM Sunday August 30, 2020 at Wells Cemetery. Reverend Tyler Jernigan will conduct the service and burial will follow.
