Edmund A. Kerr III, age 88 of Rocky Point, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday December 10, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 17, 1935 in New Hanover County, son of the late Edmund and Kathryn Davis Kerr Jr. He was also predeceased by a sister Betty Myrick.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Joanne Blackburn Kerr; two sons, Patrick Kerr and wife Norma of Rocky Point, and Michael Kerr and wife Linda of Rocky Point; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a step great grandchild; and sister, Joyce Holtzman and husband Ted of CT; and many nieces and nephews.

Bubba worked for Piedmont Airlines and retired after 35 years of service. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting. He was a faithful member of Riley's Creek Baptist Church and served as a Deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He was a past member of King Solomon Masonic Lodge. Bubba was a family man who dearly loved his family. For the past 8 years, Bubba's special relationship with his little buddy Kellan gave him joy and purpose.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 am Friday December 15, 2023 at Riley's Creek Baptist Church. Reverend Art Sauer will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to a charity of ones choice.
