Obituary

Earl W. Jarvis Jr., age 75 formerly of Carolina Beach NC, but retired to Willard NC in 2016 was called home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2024 at 9:04 PM. He passed peacefully at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Hospice with his daughter by his side. Earl is now reunited with his son Troy.

He was born to Fannie Bynum on October 26, 1949 and raised by his mother and step father Loyd Clark. We cannot imagine life without him as he was the glue that held us all together, but he would want us to live everyday as it is the last day.

Earl never met a stranger and left a mark on everyone that knew him. He was his granddaughter's best friend, flea market buddy and co-conspirator in all of their animal rescue shenanigans. He shared his love of classic rock and guns with his grandson Josh. Earl was Daniel Boone and the cast of Duck Dynasty all rolled into one crazy, tough old man. He was the definition of a southern man. A gun carrying, hunting, fishing and confederate flag flying man. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Earl was a retired commercial fisherman who loved being on the water and he was an avid civil war relic hunter and collector.  He loved his horses and his dogs and Lord knows he loved his wife of 58 years who he referred to as "his girl."

Earl is survived by his wife Kathy Jarvis of Willard, his daughter, Wendy Knapp of Wilmington, his granddaughter Savannah Knapp of Willard, and his grandson Joshua Knapp of Wilmington. Earl is also survived by three sisters and one brother, numerous nieces and nephews as well as a very special cousin Robert Coleman who he thought the world of.

He is remembered by his best friends and fishing buddies, Jack Smith, Bud Smith and Vick Germanaro. Earl is predeceased by his parents and his son, Troy Jarvis.

Although Earl is no longer walking this earth his spirit will live on forever in our hearts. I will fulfill every last wish you asked of me daddy. Rest easy Daddy, Pawpa, we have got it from here.
