Dorothy Galog Yott, age 93 of Rocky Point passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday July 17, 2025. She was at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 25, 1931 in South Norwalk, Connecticut daughter of the late Paul and Emma Galog Jr. She was also predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Ernest "Pop" Yott Jr.; brothers, Paul and John; children, Ernest "Sleepy", David "Wolf" and Charles; sister-n-laws, Henrietta and Thelma; Daughter-n-laws, Elena and Barbara Jean.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Yott and wife Beth; daughters, Donna Johnson and husband Dennis, and Kathleen Byrd all of Rocky Point; grandchildren, Jennifer Bryd, Jim Byrd Jr.; great granddaughter, Ava Langston; brother, Francis Galog of Belville; daughter-in-law, Tang Geidle; son-in-law, Jim Byrd Sr.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dorothy was a 1949 graduate of New Hanover High School. She was an avid reader and loved puzzles. She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family. Dorothy was very loving and known as "Granny" to friends and neighbors.

The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-7:30 PM at Harrell's Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday July 24, 2025 at Sea Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hampstead.
