Della Crews Beasley age 84 of Burgaw died Saturday January 18, 2014 at home after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer's.
She was born January 24, 1929 in Onslow county daughter of the late Luther and Lillie Bell Rivenbark Crews. She was also predeceased by a granddaughter Beth Lockhart.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, L. C. Beasley; two daughters, Donna Lockhart and husband Billy of Matthews, and Kathy Redmond and husband Dennis of Raleigh; four grandchildren, Lynn High and husband Larry, Jason Redmond and wife Rebecca, Rebecca Redmond, and Garrett Redmond; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Bryan of Rocky Point and Mary Lou Sawyer of Cary; a brother Jaddie Crews of Burgaw; and many nieces and nephews.

Della worked at the Burgaw sewing plant for many years. She loved growing plants, flowers and gardening, and was a great cook who dearly loved her family.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and special friends and care givers, Barbara Flowers, Judy McKoy, and Eula Brice.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday January 21, 2014 at Jordan's Chapel United Methodist Church. Reverend Bill Applewhite and Reverend William Hill Pearsall will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Monday 6-7:30 PM at Harrell's Funeral Home.
