David Lee Pickett, age 70 of Ivanhoe, passed away Sunday September 16, 2018 at Duke Medical Center.

He was born August 4, 1948 in Sampson County son of the late John David and Ida Bowman Pickett. He was also predeceased by his wife Joan Jones Pickett and son David Randall Pickett.

He is survived by his son Brian Pickett and wife Amanda of Willard; two brothers, John Pickett and wife Nell Anne of Ivanhoe and James Pickett and wife Flossie of SC; a sister Aileen Pickett of Burgaw; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday September 22, 2018 at Harrell's Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Ted Mercer will officiate.

Viewing and visitation will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

David served his country honorably in the United States Army.
