Dafney Teachey Horne age 76 of the Penderlea community of Willard passed away Saturday February 25, 2017 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 5, 1941 in Pender County daughter of the late Dewey and Pearl Bradshaw Teachey. She was also predeceased by her husband J B Horne; brother Johnny Teachey; sister Joyce Horrell; and nephews Darrell Horrell and Chris Prevatte.

She is survived by her daughter Debbie Brown Hall of the home; three granddaughters April Tucker and husband Jake of Rose Hill, Candice Hall and fiancée Michael of Rose Hill and Jessica Hall of the home; great grandchildren Austin Tucker, Madison Tucker, Jaydon Hall, Hunter Tucker, Ashlynn Hall and Brooklyn Hall; two sisters, Hazel Godwin and Gladys Prevatte both of Wilmington and many nieces and nephews.

Dafney was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a hard worker and a wonderful provider. Dafney loved to grow flowers and work in her yard. She loved her family and will be dearly missed by them all and especially by her dog Jazzy.

A memorial service will be at 2:00pm Sunday March 5, 2017 at Magnolia Baptist Church. Reverend Mark Garner and Reverend Ricky Wood will officiate.
