Corey Edward "C Dub" Winn, Age 21 of Rocky Point, died Monday November 8, 2010 in Bladen County.

Corey was born March 12, 1989 in New Hanover County son of Candace Lyness Winn and the late Richard 'Rick" Winn.

He is survived by his mother Candace Lyness Winn; a brother Ryan Winn of Rocky Point; grandparents Skippy Lyness Blanch and husband Bert of Wilmington, DE, Sara Brownlowe of Frederick, MD; aunts and uncles, Steve Lyness, Donna and Ralph Blankenship, Chuck and Patty Brownlowe, Lee and Cathy Brownlowe, Ed Gschwandtner; John and Rhonda Ervin; numerous cousins, friends, and special friends Sabrina Stanley, Justin Bland, Josh Davis, J. D. Tant and Edward Wehinger.


Corey was a 2007 graduate of Heide Trask High School where he played soccer and baseball. He also played soccer at Louisburg College where he studied biology. He was currently enrolled at Cape Fear Community College and planned to attend NC State University to study wildlife and fisheries. Corey loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He was employed at Plantation Village in Porters Neck.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 am Saturday November 13, 2010 at Riley's Creek Baptist Church. Reverend Jimmy Herchenhahn and Reverend Brock Tharpe will officiate.
The family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall.
