Christine Evans Shackelford Davis, age 81 of Surf City, died Saturday January 12, 2013 at Clare Bridge of Wilmington. She was born May 20, 1931 in Pitt County, one daughter of the late Alonza and Maybell Ross Evans.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Reverend D B Shackelford (Greenville/Rocky Point), Reverend B. L. Davis (Burgaw), and Oscar L. Hill (Greenville), and several brothers and sisters.

She was food service supervisor at Pender Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1978.

Surviving are two sons, Stephen Shackelford and wife Bonny of Boone, and Ron Shackelford and wife Marilynn of Wilmington; two grandchildren, Monica Coffey and husband James of Boone, and Grayson Shackelford of St. Petersburg, FL; one great grandchild, Hannah Coffey of Boone ; a sister and brother Kathleen Andrews and Ray Evans, both of Greenville. She is also survived by her beloved pet and life companion, Ginger.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday January 16, 2013 at Harrell's Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Nathan Morton will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Harrell's Funeral Home.

A visitation will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Greenville NC.A graveside service will follow at 4:00 PM at Pinewood Memorial Park in Greenville with Charles R. Ross officiating.
