Berta Mae Fisher Jones, age 65 of Penderlea died Tuesday March 6, 2012 at her home.

She was born March 13, 1946 in Burgaw, NC, daughter of the late Edward Fisher and Berta Blizzard Fisher. She was predeceased by two brothers, Carl Fisher and Edward Ray Fisher, and husband Kenneth Jones.

She is survived by two sons, Gerald Jones and wife Nancy of St. Helena and Chris Jones and wife Leiann of Penderlea; three grandchildren, Ashleigh Jones, Jared Jones, and Jacob Jones; one great-granddaughter Keegan Jones; two sisters Thelma Rogers and Shirley Woods both of Wallace; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jones was a devoted wife and mother and a good friend who will be greatly missed. She loved to feel the sand of the beach under her feet and would stay up all night long if the fish were biting.

A memorial service will be at 5:00 PM Friday March 9, 2012 at Harrell's Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Sammy Boone will officiate. There will be a visitation of family and friends prior to the service from 4:00 until 5:00 PM at Harrell's Funeral Home.
