Harriet Ann Oldham Brooks left her earthly home on March 20, 2022 at the age of 89.  She is survived by her beloved children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ann was born on May 20, 1932 in Wilmington North Carolina to Thomas Oldham and Erma Bradshaw Oldham, who predeceased her. She grew up in a large loving family.

Ann served many people that became friends throughout the years at Jimmy's Grill in Castle Hayne. Ann enjoyed spending time working in her yard.  She loved to plant new flowers and to watch them grow.

Ann was always on the go. She loved to go to town.  No trip was complete without shopping at Belk's and a picture to remember the occasion.

Ann leaves behind her children: Deborah M. Cole, Larry J. McGirt, Sherry L Spencer (Terry), and Bobby McGirt (Tracy). She leaves behind Grandchildren: Tabbatha Boyett, Jason Cole, Melody Rouse (Joe), Melissa Deal (Hunter), Bethany McGirt (Will), and Stephanie Babson (Robert). She also leaves behind 12 great grandchildren. Ann leaves behind her lifelong best friend Anna Lee Cribb, whom was by her side always.

Ann is preceded in death by the love of her life, Gene T. Brooks and son Tharon B. McGirt Jr.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-7:00 PM at Harrell's Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday March 23, 2022 at Harrell's Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Lenier Furr and Reverend Tony Fontana will officiate. Burial will follow in Pike Creek Cemetery.

The family would like to especially thank Liberty Hospice Services for the attentive care.  They also extend a special thank you to the Rouse Family for opening their home during this time. Thank you for all the love and prayers that have surrounded the family during this time.
