Mr. Alton Earl Coombs, age 62, of Burgaw, died Sunday October 30, 2011 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, Wilmington.
He was born May 6, 1949 in Jamestown TN son of the late Elmer and Etter Smith Coombs.

Surviving are his wife Suzanne Coombs; five children, Glen Coombs and wife Amy of Burgaw, Jessica Robinson and husband Dale of MN, Tonya Sillman of Burgaw, Tad Sillman of MN, Jamie-Lou "Frankie" Sillman of MN; six grandchildren; a sister, Faye Hamlett and husband Burk, a brother Kenneth Coombs all of Burlington, and a brother Gerald Coombs and wife Kathy of Mebane.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am Thursday November 3, 2011 at Pike Rocky Point Presbyterian Church. Reverend J C Young-Thompson will officiate. There will be a private burial at Pike Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 am one hour prior to the service at the church.
