Alexander Joseph Harrell, age 17 of Burgaw, passed away May 1, 2016.
He was born August 28, 1998 in New Hanover County, son of Herbert and Julie Turner Harrell.


He is survived by his parents and a sister Jenna Leighann Harrell; grandparents Ronald and Sarah Turner of Zebulon; many loving aunts and uncles, Ronnie & Nancy, Scott & Inga, Ronda & Mike, Ross & Rochelle, Vernon & Michelle, and Meacham & Cathy; and dozens and dozens of loving cousins. Alex was predeceased by his grandparents, Charles and Jan Harrell Sr.

Alex was a beloved son and brother who had a heart full of compassion. He loved his family, friends and Jesus Christ. He was smart, very curious, funny, had a great sense of humor, was always loyal to his friends and had a great personality. Alex was a student at Pender High School and loved everything outdoors. Alex's last message to his friends was to "do great things".

Funeral services will be at 4:00pm Thursday May 5th, 2016 at Pender High School Gymnasium. Reverend Will Davis and Reverend David Knowles will officiate. Burial will follow in the Burgaw Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 5-7:00pm at Harrell's Funeral Home.
